I hate flashy games (where a basic skill make a big flash) I'm gonna have to say daoc. The game is old . ive played the game for around 8 years now, DAOC has the best PVP / RVR balance than any other mmorpg. ![]()

I could be more in depth about it, but I think this little general description will suffice (if you want me to be more specific, let me know) Theres a lot of things you can do besides grinding, the ingame economy is pretty good and the balance in general (PvP, PvE, Paying vs non-Paying) is remarkably good, and never had the need to contact support or ask what the f**k is going on in the forums, which is pretty satisfactory IMO. This might change later, though, since theyll be introducing new content pretty soon (And their soon is annoying, but not as meaningless as Acclaims). New content might break the game, but if you guys are interested Ill let you know how it goes Btw, its been great to be with you people. Didnt spend that much time playing the japanese 9d (damn my stupid computer for busting up), but it was still an enjoyable experience and I found reading the Load O Meter forums just as enjoyable. Just thought I should say that, what with people getting all mushy on the forums (And man that was corny as hell) Just my two cents. Got some other games in mind, but since Ive been out of online gaming for a long time, Ill need to check em out and see if things are still as kosher as when I left [ Edited Thu Oct 29 2009, 10:56PM ] Props to Irrelevant for my avatar

Pvp is very balanced and the skils looks nice, chars are very detailed and its no grindfest like ALL versions of 9dragons. If anyone is starting on the EU servers, start at Telemachus wisper me ingame. IGN is Ozzie. Im a level 38 sorcerer but im starting a Ranger too. Currently around 15 spaces left and we are mainly looking for templars and clerics. Wont say its perfect coz it isnt, sometimes laggy but the guys just released it a month ago. So improvements are possible but they are working behind the scenes, they have weekly maintenance, and they bring out alot of patches. So NCsoft do their jobs. PvP ussualy happens in groups from both sides, you have alot of groupquests that u cant make without other roles. So its a more social game unlike 9dragons. ![]() ![]() Registered Member #712 Joined: Sun Dec 28 2008, 07:43AMPosts: 154 | My big problem with Aion was that the western version that came out only had the monthly payment plan, which is too costly for my taste In reviews Ive read and watched about the asian versions, theres an pay for hour method, which is better for me, since soon I wont be having enough free time to be paying monthly when Ill only get to play a few days a month. It just wouldnt be a good investment. Had they implemented the pay per hour method, I would be playing Aion. I read in the forums rumors that it might get implemented, but until I see it, Aion is out of my list Also, after taking a look in the forums 2 or 3 weeks ago, I heard some bad things about Aion. Graphics are beautiful, and the classes are okay, just minor pet peeves of people. The two things that kinda put me off were that there were spammers, and that the flying system blows First of all, the spammers. For a P2P game, its absolutely unacceptable. By now, they MUST have been dealt with. Sho Online dealt with the spammers in 4 weeks. World of Kung Fu silenced them by the second week. Perfect World Im not sure, but it definetly took less than a month and I have not seen spammers come back at all. 3 F2P games could do it, Aion has no excuse not to solve the issue swiftly and permanently Then theres the flying system. It appears you take damage when you fall, and this can kill you. Certain areas will kill you instantly if you do not activate your wings quickly enough, and from what Ive seen, there are a vast amount of areas of this type. And the flight time is quite limited. This really makes flying a boring part of the game to me. Its by no means unique, and its definetly not the best system as far as Im concerned. Ill stick with PWs unlimited flight and safe free falls, thank you very much These are just my reasons. Dont get me wrong, Aion does look like a good game. But it fails in many critical spots IMO Props to Irrelevant for my avatar

The abyss, wich is the big shared map we have with the Elyos, there u can fly everywere. There are indeed no fly zones, but in every major city u can fly. Im not intend to defend Aion, and i wont say its perfect, but its a much better game then ALL versions of 9dragons. And ofc calcrist, my next question, did u play Aion ^^. So did u tried it yourself? I'm trying out planeshift, if anyone wants to join me Hehe Planeshift, the never finished game, in development since almost 10 Years. Last time I saw it is was very incomplete. No quests, no armor, no magic, almost no skills, only a few races and only one second city existed in basics. Slow pace is one thing, but I felt the game to be unfriendly to newcomers. You get thrown in a town, no idea what to do or how to play and even can hardly identify NPCs from players. How has PS developed the last years? Still one BIG plus for PS, its available for Win, Linux and Mac. Pretty much retired from MMO gaming due to vast amounts of work.

Well, no, I havent played it yet, but I already stated my reason for it. Spammers and fly system wouldnt stop me from seeing if the game is good, but the payment method will because how good the game can or cannot be is irrelevant when I cant afford to play it Im not out to just bash Aion either. It has a lot going for it. The graphics are excellent, the classes are interesting and as Ive read not that badly balanced (Or at least players havent found any major exploits quite yet). The crafting sounds nice too Props to Irrelevant for my avatar

The two cities are still the only things in existance, but the areana is where I spend most of my time. There is more skills, and the cap for those skills is higher. BTT: Im also playing Aion at the moment, started in the end of Sept, but because of leak of time, I still havent got to max. Lvl, only 42 / 50 now. Anyway, its a pretty game with several great aspects, but as some1 already said, its not cheap to pay 13$ mothly. I also dont see great differances between other P2P games, like WoW or Warhammer, so I guess, Aion will also keep just a couple of ppl liking the atmosphere. My account is running till december and I will retire then again, it isnt worth to pay monthly if you dont have time to play. [ Edited Fri Nov 06 2009, 11:10AM ] Time to live, time to learn.

You pay to buy the game, and there's no subscription... If I ever make my way over to p2p games again, I'll just stick to wow, since I have a level 70 char there already...
