So, seems like Acclaim is trying to celebrate the upcoming World Cup by replacing their obsolete warnings system with a new card system. Though the rules describing how the cards would work was already in the Rules of Conduct since several months ago, the system itself wasnt implemented until the second week of feburary of 2010 (Great way of making the rules less confusing, by the way, putting rules that arent even in effect yet -_-)

I would give you a link, but they usually dont work, so Ill give you the general picture

The equivalent of a warning is now a yellow card. Red cards are the equivalent of a temporary ban. 3 cards equal a red card, and 3 red cards equal a permanent ban. That is to say, if an account has a red card and 5 yellow cards, getting another yellow card will mean permanent ban of the account

The criteria for giving out cards is the same as the warnings/bans of the old system. That is to say, things like using profanity or defaming players will net you yellow cards, repeated offenses or more serious violations get you red cards, etc

Now heres the jist of the thread: whats your opinion of this system?

Personally, I dont see any significant difference. The major problem with the warnings WAS the criteria under which things were punished, and how the mods sometimes completly disregarded the criteria sometimes. Id give examples, but I think Ive already bored people enough in other topics, so I think Ill spare you folks

In short, to me this is the same crap in a different presentation

PS: I also made this thread here since in the Acclaim forums, mods are getting a bit giddy with their new cards. Oh, and by the way, Historian is the one responsible for this system being implemented, yet he doesnt hang around to polish the rough edges. he doesnt have time to make the system work, but he sure as hell has time to give the first damned card! Aint that the cutest thing?

 Instead of revamping a system where it affects the forums, or more specifically how to people gain demerit points leading to possible bans...

Perhaps they should be focusing more of their "efforts" in resolving in-game issues like scams, spambots, griefing, map crashes, bugs, investigating reported game exploits, etc...

One would wonder if the US/EU9D is slowly progressing into a mmorpg where you take pride in evading or meriting bans off-game.

Keyword: Priorities! (invest in brightly colored postits?)

 I think the change is lame. Why remove the chat filter so they can give yellow cards instead?

+ Atleast 1/4 got yellow cards now under their avatar.

 Perhaps this is to "distract" players from becoming overly focused on the "Real" disturbing issues that still plagues the acme's version of US/EU9D.

Bugs, Imbalances, Exploits, Possible Favoritism, etc... You name it, they've got it ^-^

 Well its right now 2 new mods who obviously got nothing better to do since those 2 are the ones responsible for like 99% of all yellow and red cards.

So I would rather call it a new forum game for mods.

 The system was around for a while on the other forums.. which is why you'll see the rules including it.

2Moons used this system for quite some time. My guess is they finally got around to updating the forum version for 9D.
