Acclaim has made an official ANNOUNCEMENT of the new patch with time and date

BluFlash Posted: 02 Dec 2008 11:21
Hello all,

We will have a server maintenance on Wednesday at 10pm PST for 2 hours.

After we bring the server back up, the much anticipated patch will be released. However, we are launching with a few bugs that will be corrected soon after the launch. These will be detailed before the release.

HUGE step ahead BluFlash congrats ! It's called backbone and sincerity which you finally show towards the players. Not that you made a good company out of Acclaim and nothing against Phew, but a big thanks from myself for announcing something important. Now lets see if it'll work =D

Sounds much more like better maintained Gameleon admins ^^ Setting time and duration. Hopefully they can keep their word and do it w/i 2 hours. I kind of think Acclaim should take a hint from Gameleon and do weekly maintenance. I've noticed that several other games do have this sort of weekly checkup to make sure all things are running smoothly (both for current and new material). Wouldn't it help for Acclaim to do that as well? :S

it makes only sense when you have a well working dev-team which works continuously on bugs, improves this and that etc... If you have a slow working team or heavy bugs it needs longer and then a maintenance wouldn't make any sense.

Anyways, wonderful it'll be out soon^^

Sincerely, Hoppelhase

Lol, good news, maybe not summed up by 3xomg, but good news still. Learning from Gameleon though? Nope, I don't think so -- learning from the community feedback.

Hope that helps, even here. =)

well... no harm in pushing back the patch a day or two...

i mean... the poor peeps still with acme has waited this long already right?

anyways, i doubt anybirdy would skip a heartbeat waiting for this patch of theirs to come out.

bugged or otherwise... ^-^

but from wat i can tell from the little trailers that was in their patch status thread...

it isnt much tbh...

couple of new quest, decos/clothes, refinements, etc... thats about it (for something that took well over 3months since i left them and got myself a lil' EC3 nuker on jp ^-^)

What does it mean "the much anticipated patch"?
No detailed information...
It wont surprise me if they don't implement the advance mastery and skills.

this patch of their has created WAY too much hype from its anticipation...

i wonder if and/or how many ppl will get disappointed with it when it is released.

but then again... most of acme's existing client base are such a "resilient" bunch that i guess their faith will hold "Till Death Do They Part" ^-^

Well, we had some major bugs that affected playability, and as a result, we are not able to release the patch until Sunday night.

The new time for the maintenance is Sunday, 10PM PST.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

This delay is already infuriating players. They should not make promises they cannot keep. Should have kept with the soon theme IMO.

Should have sticked with soon? Seriously? After you have been asking for informations and dates for so long? I'm not sure I get this community anymore; anything seems to be an motif for Acclaim/its representatives to be wrong.

BluFlash gave a date and explained that there were some bugs in the patch, even if it was to be released on that date, then pushed back the date because those bugs would have affected playability, to make sure the bugs that remain don't affect it, and he's still doing it wrong?

I'm not blindly taking Blu's defense, I do it right now because I really, really don't understand what you are expecting from him/us in this case anymore.

Those requests of the community are being paradoxal right now -- giving dates and as much information as possible were two of the things that we understood players wanted and were requesting. Remember a while back, you would get no dates and no information; now the information given is seen as a way to build up expectations and the releases dates are seen as a way to get people's attention off the fact that it's been a while since this patch was supposed to come?

Those are some of the requests I have made myself for you guys; it's not perfect, but heck, it's an improvement isn't it?

Or would you want to go back to the "soon" and the absence of information? Enlighten me -- this is a question for everyone.

P.S: This post isn't directed specifically at Leheno, I just quoted you to show the paradox.

Hope that helps, even here. =)

We are just asking for a realistic date for when you could release the patch, we didn't want a 'maybe' cos you didn't check through it properly, and it's Acclaim's fault that they didn't have a good enough development team to be able to do it in a reasonable time period. We nag Acclaim because they've always been delaying outcoming patches because of bugs and random maintenaces. If they rarely did this, we would be more tolerate of this delay, but due to the history between the Player Community and Acclaim, we get angry very quickly.

I have the following formula Acclaim should use: expected date + 2 months = the one to tell players. If it's sooner than that everyone one will happy if just then everyone will be pleased.

I'm very tolerable to delay, I think I am the most patient person I know ( =P ) but even for me 7 delays (are they now ?) from middle October to mid December is too much. Like I said, I think informing us is nice, but they should do it with "virtual" release dates they can keep rather than utopic dream-dates they are using now.
